Problem

Tesco aims to cut supply chain emissions by 30% by 2020. It recognises this won’t be achieved without working in partnership with its suppliers.

Solution

Tesco established a social network-style knowledge hub in collaboration with 2degrees. This allows suppliers to Share information and best practice via webinars, case studies and site visits. The site reached 1,000 members at the end of 2012. All 5,000 suppliers will eventually be able to access the hub – from local produce growers to Fortune 100 brands.

Issues covered include: carbon management, energy efficiency, renewable energy, resource efficiency, employee engagement and customer engagement.
